introduction
Make do and mend? Not quite, but I like the philosophy of recycling, making something new out of something old.
And I like making, creating. Anything from felting to sewing, fabric design and costumes. It is fun.
what I do
Arachnae started off designing and spinning yarns. Later, I ventured into weaving rugs and table runners, felting slippers and bags, designing and making bespoke garments and costumes. I explored decorative embroidery and fabric manipulation.
Arachnae is a textile art business which encompases a variety of skills to create beauty.
This can lead to all things from a wall hanging to a costume or a practical item.
In the process of designing and making I tend to focus on the re-use of objects and re-claim some of the fabrics for my creations.
